wanna hang-on and not come out. Fearing breakage, l replaced hoping for the
best.

Is there something, like a gasket sealer which can be
applied to a wet surface?
l have used the black 'Window and Door'
sealer, which can stick to wet surfaces but do not know if this is a good
application.

Any experience?

If not, then do what many have done, JB Weld (an engine epoxy avail at the
hardware store) the plug using the same process of draining & drying the
hole threads, & when you need to drain the future, just pop off a radiator
hose. In fact, alot of cars dont have a drain plug, pulling a hose is the
standard method of draining.

Also, make sure you wire brush off the area around the hole & if it looks
to be any hairline cracks, JB weld those spots too after sanding with 100
grit or a coarse wire brush. Look for white mineral deposits, & wirebrush
them looking for cracks under them, then apply JB weld over them.

Good luck & have a good superbowl sunday.

The plastic plug can be a royal pain. If you used the sealer,

and still have the leak, then it may be time to go ahead and find out the
